Geography Awareness Week Competition 2012
Every November, National Geographic sponsors Geography Awareness Week with a different theme. In 2012 the theme was Global Interdependence. The Geographic Educators of Nebraska and National Geographic co-sponsored a school contest where students from all over the state of Nebraska would design a postcard advertising the 2012 theme. Holy Name was extremely proud to find out that our students did not just have one winner but we swept the middle school level with Jacob in third place, Abok in second, and Antonio in first place. Jacob will get a free subscription to National Geographic, Abok will get to spend up to $30 on materials from the NGS web site and Antonio will get to spend up to $65 on that same web site. Congratulations to our budding geo-artists!
