SOCIAL STUDIES EXTRA EFFORT
TIME PERSON OF THE YEAR 2013
SOCIAL STUDIES EXTRA EFFORT
Look at the “Person of the Year” covers of years past. Pick out your own “Person of the Year” that changed the history of the world for good or for bad in the past year-2013.
1) Make your own fake TIME magazine cover-remember the red framing.
2) Do NOT use TIME’S own choice for the year.
3) Turn in the cover along with an attached 4-8 sentence explanation of why you made that choice.
4) Neatness counts!
5) This is NOT SPORTS ILLUSTRATED ATHLETE OF THE YEAR! Picking an athlete is probably not the way to go.
TIME usually announces who they picked on or about December 11. It will be on the cover of the last TIME issue of the calendar year. It will also be on-line at www.time.com The World-Herald will announce it as well as most of the area news stations.
Due Date: Wednesday Dec. 18, 2013. Do not use who TIME picked. If you have any questions check with Mr. McCarville. Remember you need to have your own “fake” TIME cover as well as the written/typed explanation of why you chose this person. Please staple them together with your name on the explanation sheet. Please follow these directions if you want the extra effort points! Neatness counts!
